Capacity Building Programs
Capacity Building Programs
At Helping Hands, we offer Capacity Building Programs designed to empower children, adolescents, and young adults to develop essential skills for everyday life. These programs are delivered by trained Therapy Assistants under the supervision of our qualified Allied Health Professionals (AHPs), including psychologists, speech pathologists, and occupational therapists.
What Are Capacity Building Supports?
Under the NDIS, Capacity Building Supports aim to enhance an individual's independence and participation in the community by developing functional skills. Our programs focus on:
- Daily Living Skills: Assisting with routines such as dressing, hygiene, and meal preparation.
- Communication: Enhancing verbal and non-verbal communication abilities.
- Social Interaction: Building relationships and understanding social cues.
- Emotional Regulation: Developing strategies to manage emotions effectively.
- Community Participation: Encouraging involvement in community activities and events.
These supports are tailored to each individual’s goals and are integral to fostering long-term independence.
Our Approach
Assessment and Planning
Allied health practitioners conduct comprehensive assessments to identify areas of need and develop personalized intervention plans.
Implementation
Therapy Assistants carry out the intervention plans through regular sessions, ensuring consistency and reinforcement of skills.
Monitoring & Review
Progress is continuously monitored, with AHPs adjusting plans as necessary to align with evolving goals. This model ensures that participants receive consistent, high-quality support that is both effective and efficient.
